Swimming Lessons | Physical Education
Our School prides itself in providing students with opportunities for competition at intra-school and inter-school levels. Preparation for these competitions is included in Physical Education and Swimming lessons. There are also before-school trainings that are available throughout the year.
Intra-school Competition
Each year the following Our Lady of Lourdes Carnivals are held:
- Early Years Cross Country (Prep and Year 1)
- Cross Country (Years 2 – 6)
- Athletics (Prep to Year 6)
- Junior Swimming (8 and 9 year olds)
- Senior Swimming (10, 11 and 12 year olds)
Inter-school Competition
All students in Years 4-6 participate in Friday Inter-school Sport during Term 2, including sports such as Soccer, Netball and Oz Tag.
The following representative pathways are available to students:
- Catholic Zone II competition in Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming
- OLOL teams in the State Catholic Netball Competition (QC Cup)
- 1 day Boys Cricket Inter-School Challenge in Term 4
- District Trials in Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming
- District Sport Trials in a large variety of Team Sports
District competition enables students to advance to the elite level of National Competition. Our Lady of Lourdes has had a considerable number of children involved in District Trials, many of whom have successfully progressed to representation at Regional, State and National levels of competition.
